Step-by-Step Guide: How to Open a USD Bank Account in Pakistan through Bank of Punjab (BOP)

My name is Malik Hunza, and in this article, I will teach you how to create your own USD bank account through a Pakistani bank without having to visit any branch or show proof of your earnings. You can easily create this account from the comfort of your home within a few minutes by following the steps I will outline below.

Why do you need a USD account? 

As a freelancer in Pakistan, the main issue faced by 90% of us is how to receive payments in USD. In response to this problem, the Bank of Punjab (BOP) announced a USD bank account for freelancers in Pakistan to help us earn more.

So, let’s talk about how to create your own USD account in Pakistan. Just follow the simple steps given below:

• Step 1: Visit BOP’s Digital Account Banking website. Click here to access it.
• Step 2: Enter your email address and verify it. After visiting the website, you may see a pop-up – close it and enter your email. Click submit after completing the captcha. Then, a new window will open asking for the code sent to your email. Simply enter the code and click submit again.
• Step 3: Open a new account. After verifying your email, you will be redirected to BOP’s home page. Click on the “Open New Account” option in the top-left menu and choose “Asaan Single Freelancer” from the drop-down menu named “Individual.”
• Step 4: You will see a new form in front of you with five stages shown on the left sidebar: Account Information, Personal Information, Remitter’s Information, Next of Kin, and Upload Documents. Don’t worry; I will guide you through all of these stages.

Account Information:- 

• Bank Type:- You will get 2 types of Bank:- Conventional Banking & Islamic Banking. Choose Islamic Banking. (You Can also choose Conventional Banking if you want)
• Account Type:- You will get 1 Account type CURRENT. So Select CURRENT Account.
• Account Currency:- There will be 2 Currencies in drop Down. PKR & USD, As we are creating a USD Account so we will select USD.
• Preferred Branch: Choose the branch closest to your location where USD accounting is available. If your branch is not on the list, select another branch near you.
• SMS Alerts: If you want to receive SMS alerts about your transactions, click YES. Otherwise, click NO.
• E-Banking: If you want to use e-banking, click YES. Otherwise, click NO.
• E-Statement: If you want to receive e-statements, click YES. Otherwise, click NO.
• Product: Choose Taqwa Freelancer Digital Current Account USD.
• Account Title: Write your name as the account title (e.g., Malik Hunza).
• Debit Card: By default, for USD accounts, the debit card option is selected as NO because there is no debit card facility available for USD accounts.
• Cheque Book: If you need a cheque book, select YES. Otherwise, select NO.
• Disability: If you have a disability, select YES. Otherwise, select NO.
• Account Purpose:- write the Purpose of Creating Account. I.e:- To Accept Foreign Remittances.

Then after re-checking your all entered details Click SAVE.

Personal Information:-

Here, you have to enter all of your personal details as requested by the bank. This includes your name, mother’s name, father’s name, country, gender, marital status, date of birth, place of birth, CNIC, and residential details.

Remitter’s Information:-

Next, enter your remitter’s information. The remitter is the source of your income. For example, if you earn money from YouTube, enter “YouTube” as the remitter’s name. Provide the country where the remitter is located and your relationship with the remitter. For example, if you work as a YouTuber, enter “YouTuber” as your relationship.

Then Click Save to Proceed to Next Stage.

Next of KIN:-

A person who can manage your account if you are unable to do so. Enter their name, Father/Husband name, relationship to you, mobile number, and CNIC number. Also, provide their complete address.

Upload Documents:-

Now you have to Upload your Personal Document here in this Stage.

• Live Photo:- First you have to capture your Live Photo through the Camera.
• Original CNIC (Front):- Upload the Front Photo of your CNIC in PDF.
• Original CNIC (Back):- Upload the Back Photo of your CNIC in PDF.
• Signature Specimen on White Card:- Do your Signature on a page and upload its pic in PDF format.
• Proof of Profession:- This option is Optional. You can upload if you want otherwise leave it and move to the next one.
• CNIC of (Next of KIN):- Upload the CNIC in PDF of the Person whose details you added in your KIN.
• Any Other Document:- If you have any other Document you can upload it here in file.

Then, Read and agree to the bank’s terms and conditions. Finally, click on “Save and Submit” to complete the process.

Form Submitted:-

After submitting all the required documents, you will see a confirmation message on the screen that your application has been submitted successfully. The Bank will then review your application and documents, and once they are satisfied with everything, they will activate your account.

You will receive an email and SMS notification from the Bank once your account is activated, along with instructions on how to login to your account and access its features.

Congratulations, you have successfully created your USD Bank Account in Pakistan without the need to visit a branch or show any proof of earnings.
